Aretha Franklin because she was a powerful musician who raised awareness of racial injustice during the Civil Rights Movement; George Takei because he is an inspirational Japanese-American actor/director who continues to raise awareness about many LGBTQ issues; Martha Argerich because she is truly a brilliant pianist.
