Process and Timeline
Step by Step: From Inquiry to Completed Application
To be considered for fall 2024 admission, all applicants should:
Request information. Complete our inquiry form to receive a viewbook by mail and other information about our program and curriculum by email.
Create a Ravenna account. Belmont Day School partners with Ravenna Solutions to provide families with a complete online experience. Through the Ravenna Parent Portal, you will register for events and submit an application, including uploading forms, soliciting teacher recommendations, and tracking the receipt of application documents.
Visit Ravenna to create an account, select the Greater Boston Region, and add Belmont Day to your school list.
Schedule a parent interview. After you have submitted a preliminary application, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a parent interview, which is a required step in our admissions process. We look forward to getting to know your family.
Complete our online application. Create a Ravenna account and submit the application by our deadline of Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The application fee is $50. Please contact the admissions office if you would like to request a fee waiver. All supplemental application components (including the parent/guardian statement, teacher recommendations, and transcripts) are due Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
Solicit teacher recommendations for submission. All teacher recommendations can be requested through Ravenna. Parents can delegate a recommendation form by entering the teacher’s email address. Delegated forms are forms you send to other people and ask them to complete. The Ravenna system will email the form and instructions, allowing teachers to submit it online. If your child’s teacher prefers to complete the teacher recommendation form on paper, please download the appropriate form(s) from the Association of Independent Schools of New England (AISNE) website.
Request school transcript for submission. Print the records release form from the Ravenna system, sign it, and give it to your child’s teacher, guidance counselor, or school registrar. Please ask your child’s current school to upload the complete transcript, including any available testing, if applicable, directly to Ravenna or send it by mail directly to Belmont Day School.
Register your child for a student visit. All applicants must participate in our Student Visit Day on January 19, 2024. Families may register for this visit by signing in to Ravenna. Families are also asked to participate in the Boston Area Lower School Virtual Evaluation (BAVE) process for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten applicants—more information is available in Ravenna.
Register for an optional parent-led tour. Optional on-campus tours are led by volunteer parents who are eager to share their experiences of our school. This is a wonderful way to see our teaching and learning in action and to get a feel for our community. Tours last 45 to 60 minutes.
Pre-registration is required to attend both in-person and virtual admissions events. Please see the instructions for registration at the bottom of the Admissions Events page.
