Athletics Update: Fencing Pivots to Intramural Meet

Despite the two-week pause on interscholastic competition, the Blue & Gold fencing team took to the strips this Thursday and squared off against each other in an intramural meet. Under the direction of Coach Solomon, the team competed in all three weapons. With a large percentage of sixth grade athletes on the roster, this was the first competitive experience for the majority of the team. Classmates Zach Cash, Ariel Duan, Ayres Planck, Simon Wright, and Lucy Yin have been improving steadily over the course of the season and are excited to square off against “real” opponents sometime soon. The team hopes to get back at it the week of January 17 and will continue to train hard in the meantime.
