Belmont Day School is a community committed to academic excellence and lifelong learning. Our teaching faculty comprises homeroom teachers and specialists in math and science, the visual and performing arts, innovation and technology, physical education and athletics, woodworking, French, Spanish, and Latin. A reading teacher and two learning specialists support the classroom teachers in grades one through eight, and our school counselor and psychologist support all students. Our high school placement counselor works with eighth graders and their families. All members of the Belmont Day community share six core values: honesty, caring, joy, responsibility, respect, and excellence.

Faculty, Staff, and Administrative Positions

Belmont Day School seeks a dynamic, skilled, and creative math teacher to teach grade eight middle school math, serve as an advisor, and collaborate with a collegial and skilled team of faculty.

As a teacher and advisor, this person will serve as an integral member of the middle school grade-level team and the math department. Deep knowledge of and appreciation for teaching mathematics, including knowledge of number properties, decimals, fractions, percent, measurement, statistics, geometry, order of operations, ratios, algebraic thinking, basic trigonometry, linear equations, systems and inequalities, polynomials, quadratic functions, graphing inequalities, and quadratic, exponential, absolute value, and other functions are required. A qualified candidate will also possess strong enthusiasm, deep knowledge of, and familiarity with middle school students, a commitment to fostering and modeling our core values, and the ability to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into their pedagogy and treatment of students, parents, and colleagues.

This temporary, exempt, and benefits-eligible position reports to the middle school head beginning April 6, 2026, with the possibility of extending employment into the fall of the following academic year. We are seeking a qualified in-house substitute teacher who will also serve as the coordinator of substitute teachers for the lower and middle school divisions (pre-kindergarten to grade 8). This position will schedule and coordinate all teacher coverage; it requires flexible working hours, as sub-coordination occurs outside the school day’s typical schedule. Belmont Day School seeks passionate and dedicated individuals to serve as coaches for our middle school athletics program this winter. We currently have openings for coach or assistant coach roles with the following sports: basketball, badminton, and wrestling. Read the complete job description.

This is a part-time, seasonal position that reports to the director of athletics. Coach’s hours are Monday through Thursday, 3 to 4:30 or 5:30 p.m. daily, depending on when games are scheduled.

We are seeking qualified substitute teachers for the lower school division—pre-kindergarten to grade five—and middle school division—grades six, seven, and eight. Substitutes will have an opportunity to work in a variety of well-resourced classrooms with inspiring and dedicated teachers and administrators.
