This program highlights the amazing intersection of numbers and nature for our youngest campers and newest counters. Using the trails in the woods surrounding campus, children will explore the natural world and experience the excitement of numbers and counting. Led by Belmont Day teachers Larissa Rochford ’93 and Leigh Twarog.

ArtStart

Grades 1 to 4

ArtStart is a week-long creative program for young artists. Children will work in small groups with professional teacher-artists in a variety of arts projects: movement, drama, music, and visual arts. The week will culminate in a special performance on Friday. Stay tuned for this year’s theatrical selection! This program, led by Belmont Day School enrichment specialists Kathy Randall, Valery Marcantonia, and Jessica Cormier, includes recreational activities and a daily swim period.

Children will take a culinary journey around the world exploring Indian, Asian, Italian, and Mexican/South American food. By preparing an assortment of recipes each day, they will develop culinary skills including ingredient, taste, and flavor identification, and knife handling. The school garden will serve as a tool for learning about local and seasonal foods. The program will include a visit to a local farmers' market. A swim lesson and free swim period are part of each day. Led by Belmont Day's head chef Tara Lightbody.

STEM Challenge

Grades 1 and 2

Belmont Day School first grade teacher, Maria Ramirez, will lead children on a five-day STEM challenge. Campers will learn programming skills using Ozobots and LEGO WeDos, build bridges, create a water slide, design an egg drop, engage in "mystery STEM bag" challenges, and more! This will be a great introduction to robotics, programming, and engineering for our younger campers.

Future Filmmakers

Grades 5 to 9

Explore the exciting world of movie­making, learn about key jobs, and how to work as a team to achieve a final product. Each child will participate in pre-production, production, and post-production activities including: storyboarding as a group and developing a shooting schedule, designing sets and selecting locations, auditions and casting, shooting the script, recording sound effects, sound tracking the film, editing scenes to create the final short film, and creating graphics for the marketing and packaging of the film. Led by Belmont Day enrichment specialist Jessica Web.

Summer Institute in Global Leadership: Young Delegates

Curtain Up!

Grades 3 to 7

Children will create and debut an original play during this 2-week performance program that emphasizes ensemble work while also showcasing the strengths of each participant. The theme will be determined by the group. Explorations will include the foundations of acting—analysis, character development, voice and movement—improvisation, and costume, prop, and set design. A swim lesson and free swim period are part of each day. This program is taught by a Belmont Day enrichment specialist and Alexander-trained actress Jessica Webb.

Novel Engineering

Grades 1 and 2

What would it take to create a house for the three little pigs that could withstand the the huffing and puffing of the big bad wolf? In this two-week interdisciplinary program campers will read stories, identify challenges for characters, then brainstorm, design, and engineer solutions to overcome obstacles.  We will use a wide range of materials such as pipe cleaners, PVC pipes, popsicle sticks, cardboard, cups, recyclables, tape, and anything else we can get our hands on to solve the problem. This program is taught by Belmont Day first grade teacher, Maria Ramirez. Campers will enjoy a swim lesson and free swim period each day.

Create a Castle

Imagine, create, play! Children will use a wide range of mediums including fabric, metal, paint, pottery, and fused glass to make a castle to take home and play with as a fully functional play house for dolls or other small toys complete with components like furniture and figurines. Each participants' finished piece will measures about 1.5 ft x 1.5 ft. x 1.5 ft.

Namaste, Nature, and Creativity 

Grades 1 to 3

The days will begin with yoga games and asana practice. Children will take walks in the woods, learn yoga chants, and explore the philosophy and history of yoga in a team-focused way. They will create art inspired by the movement, breathing, and guided resting journey of yoga practice. A free swim period is included every day. A gallery showing for parents will take place on the last day. Led by Belmont Day enrichment specialist Mary Jo Peterman.

Will It Float?

Grades 4 and 5

Cardboard + tape + creativity  = A BOAT.  Campers will experiment with buoyancy, drag, and absorption to build a cardboard boat that they can actually climb into. They will also learn about classic boat designs in maritime history. The final day will feature a cardboard boat regatta where campers will paddle their boats across the BDS pool.

Please note: All of our programs close for registration at noon on the Thursday before the session start date, unless the program is already at capacity. Enrollment after this time may be available, but is at the director's discretion and may incur an additional late enrollment fee.

$240 per two week session - pro-rated for sessions A2 (camp closed on July 4) and D (no extended day on last day of camp, August 18)

Camp Multi-Week Discount - Applicable to sessions B, C and D

  • 4% off your total bill if you enroll in 3, 4, or 5 weeks of camp (Need to add a single week of session B, C or D? Contact us, we can help.)
  • 8% off your total bill if you enroll in 6 weeks of camp
  • Take an additional $400 off your total bill if you are enrolling for all 8 weeks of camp

Available for All Sessions

  • Sibling Discount - $25 off per child when two or more children are enrolled

Payment Terms for General Camp Sessions A1, A2, B, C, D & Journeys Programs

There is a one-time, $40 per camper enrollment fee. This fee is waived if you enroll prior to February 25, 2018.

Payment is due based on the following schedule: 

  • 25% due upon enrollment until April 15
  • 50% of balance due April 15, or upon enrollment between April 16 and May 15
  • 75% of balance due May 15, or upon enrollment between May 16 and June 1
  • 100% of balance due June 15 or upon enrollment after June 1

Refunds will be given as follows:

  • Full refunds are only give in the case of a medical or family emergency that was unforeseen regardless of date of event
  • Partial refunds may be available as follows:
    • $50 per week administrative fee is non-refundable until April 15
    • 25% per week is non-refundable after April 15
    • Tuition is not refundable within two weeks of the session start date
  • School extension for snow days:
    • In the event that school runs later than expected because of snow days or other missed days, Belmont Day will prorate a session for the days that school is still in session provided the family decides to attend school and not camp.

Payment Terms for Specialty and Sports Programs

  • Payment is due in full at the time of enrollment. Participants will not be registered, and have their space guaranteed until payment, in full, is made.
  • Refunds will only be given in the following situations:
    • Medical or family emergency that was unforeseen
    • If cancelation is made at least one month prior to the program’s start date, less a $50 per-week deposit.
