Corporation Meeting Honors Outgoing & New Trustees, PA Executive Board Members

June 24, 2020

The 2020 Corporation and Parents’ Association open meetings were held online on Thursday May 14. During these annual meetings, the Belmont Day community came together to celebrate the 2019-20 academic year, mark faculty service milestones, honor outgoing and announce new members of the board of trustees and the PA executive committee. This year has been one of great success and growth at Belmont Day, and we, like all schools during these times, are facing the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. The evening together was a time to share our appreciation for the contributions and inspiration of the many leaders who have guided us through a challenging and rewarding school year.

A tremendous thank you to our outgoing members of the board of trustees, Daniyul Cho, Sean Dalton, Jen Friborg (faculty representative), Larry Griffin, Karen Liesching, Kim Morris, and Margaret Potter. Elected to the board as new members are Carolyn Atinizian, Elise Bayard Franklin (president of the Parents’ Association), Jonathan Drummey (faculty representative), Matt Kishlansky, Gretchen Larkin (outside educator, head of school at Charles River), Crissy Straub (PA past president), Michael Treisman, Jessica Turco, and Natasha Warikoo.

The committee on trustees also had the pleasure to announce the 2020-2021 board officers: Thomas Hancock, president; Catalina Guillermety, vice president; Matt Kadnar, treasurer; and Audra Dainora, clerk.

The evening also welcomed the election of two new officers to the PA executive committee: Kelly Baker, vice president for 2020-2021 and president for 2021-2022; and Michelle Walters, clerk for 2020-2022. They will join Judy Bright, president 2019-2020*, and Alex Min, treasurer for 2019-2021. *Judy Bright has subsequently stepped down from her PA role to take a staff position in the Belmont Day admissions office. Elise Bayard Franklin will serve as PA president for 2020-2021.

Please join us in expressing our gratitude to each of these leaders for their commitment past, present, and future to making Belmont Day a school defined by excellence.
