Grade 2 Curriculum
Second grade students apply what they have learned about the meanings of letters and numbers to more complex challenges and to further develop their analytical abilities. They are eager to look outside of themselves, compare their experiences to others, and discover the broader world. Math
The second grade mathematics curriculum creates mathematical thinkers who love to solve problems, riddles, and challenges. Students build facility with addition and subtraction facts, confidently explain mathematical relationships, and solve creative story problems involving computation and logical thinking.

Science
Second graders enjoy learning in the campus garden—where they harvest corn that they had planted as first graders and where they apply scientific methods to increase their understanding of the natural world. They engage in extended, interdisciplinary studies of endangered species and explore the cycle and properties of water.
