Application Process
Qualifications
The program aims to accept associates who have a sincere interest in working with children and an authentic respect for what they have to offer the world. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with significant coursework in the liberal arts or sciences from an accredited college or university. An undergraduate G.P.A of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
Applying to the Associate Teacher Program
Applications for the 2021-22 academic year are closed as the program is fully enrolled. Interested prospective teachers are invited to apply in the fall for a placement in the 2022-2023 school year.
To apply:
- Submit an online Belmont Day Associate Teacher interest form
- Email a resume and transcript to director Heather Woodcock
- Complete the online Lesley University application
- Apply for a teacher residency master's program in early childhood education
- Apply for a teacher residency master's program in elementary education
- Apply for a teacher residency master's program in middle and high school education
As soon as the online Lesley University application is complete, we require all applicants to complete Zoom interviews with the director and a current associate teacher. Teacher Training Fellowship
Develop your passion for learning and leading. The Teacher Training Fellowship covers the full cost of the Belmont Day School portion of the program. This $6,000 fellowship will be awarded to an associate teacher of color who demonstrates excellence and a strong commitment to working in the classroom.
