The varsity and junior varsity ultimate teams put the finishing touches on their seasons with commanding wins over Beaver Country Day and Solomon Schechter this week. Varsity finished their campaign 6-2, while junior varsity went a perfect 7-0. The combined 13-2 record represents the best combined winning percentage in program history and a testament to the strong leadership from a talented eighth grade class. Leading the way for this group were four team captains: Calum Dunbar, Ben Fleming, Kiernan Patel, and Ethan Zipkin. Right alongside them, program veterans Christian Atem, Wyatt Baker, Jonathan Laipson, Jordan Levine, Emmett Mack, Copeland Maier, and Edwin Voiland rounded out the largest and most experienced eighth grade class the program has ever seen. Congratulations to this group of athletes who have helped elevate Belmont Day ultimate to one of the premier middle school programs in the area.

  • The boys’ lacrosse team finished their season with an even 4-4 record following an overtime win (8-7) over Shady Hill and hard-fought loss (5-4) to Carroll this week.
  • The girls’ varsity lacrosse team split their final two games with a win over Shady Hill (16-13) and a loss to Carroll (14-10). The team ended up 6-2 overall this spring.
  • After opening the season with three straight wins, the varsity tennis team dropped their last four matches, finishing 3-4 on the season. The team graduates eight eighth graders.
  • The track & field team finished their season with a successful showing at Carroll and now sets their sights on the State Meet, where a handful of athletes have qualified to participate.
  • Things are looking up for the mountain biking program, which will return all 13 riders next year. The program was able to challenge both experienced and novice riders this spring.
