Grade 2 Curriculum

Second grade students are ready to apply what they have learned about the meanings of letters and numbers to more complicated materials, and begin to develop their analytical abilities even further. They are eager to look outside of themselves and discover the broader world and compare their experiences to others. Second grade students learn about animals, the environment, and the earth’s resources. Opportunities for community service harness their developing planning skills and their eagerness to help others and have influence in their world. They have a deeper understanding of the importance of rules and are given more responsibility to resolve conflicts and to be a integral part of the classroom community.
