April Vacation Camp - Tuesday to Friday, April 18 to 21, 2017

April Onsite Program 1: Zootopia-The Wild World of Animals
-for children in pre-kindergarten to grade 3-

Howl like a wolf, run like a cheetah, and build like an army ant at BDS Zootopia! Participants will learn about the animal kingdom, discover extinct ecosystems, imagine what the world would be like if animals were in charge, make an animal foot cast, and more.

April Onsite Program 2 - Summer Specialty Camp Spotlights
-for children in grades 4 to 8-

This program is a sampler of four of the exciting specialty camps that are offered during the summer. Learn more about Belmont Day's specialty camps.

Tinkering Tuesday: Robotics
Children will create monorails, hovercrafts, boats, and cars powered by balloons. Using recycled materials, crafts supplies, and tools they will experiment with the most efficient designs and maneuver their creations through challenges and obstacles.

Workout Wednesday: Athletics
With a focus on sport-specific skill development, an introduction to competitive play, and developmentally-appropriate fitness sessions, young athletes will build on their existing skills and learn how to compete with sportsmanship in a team setting.

Theater Thursday: Curtain Up
This introduction to improvisational ensemble-building exercises, some serious and most silly, will inspire deeper listening and risk-taking and provide fun theater challenges. Participants will contribute ideas for the day's themes. If time allows, children will write a script for a mini-performance piece for the group at the end of the day.

Fanciful Friday: Art Start
Metal-working, jewelry making, fused glass sculpting, and soap-making will all be part of this fun, creative day. Children will create several pieces to take home and share with the family.
