January 18, 2019

Our music classes enjoyed a visit from Dr. Brett Abigaña, an accomplished composer, music educator, and conductor at Boston University Academy. Students learned about a variety of topics ranging from composing music for movies and shows, the role of physics in the overtone series, the history of musical notation, healthy vocal technique and breathing, and the history of dissonant music! Students in the middle school music class also had the chance to ask questions about high school requirements for music, and the course and ensemble offerings at the high school level. It was an amazing musical experience for our students to have this wonderful guest teacher, Dr. Abigaña!
