For grades 1 to 7.
Kindergarten students learn a new poem every week and keep an anthology of these poems in a notebook. At the end of the school year, they choose their favorite poem. Teachers videotape each student reciting his/her selection individually or in small groups. Families and faculty are invited to gather in the Kiva for a screening of these videos. During a live open mic session, adult guests are encouraged to share a favorite short, child-friendly poem.
Join us as second graders share their excellent work and growth this school year. Coffee and pastries for parents will be available from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m.
Join us for the culminating event of the third grade's research about the people, places, landmarks, symbols, animals, major landforms, and state and national parks from their states. They will showcase artifacts, foods, and recipes, present relief maps made from salt and flour dough, sing patriotic songs, practice public speaking, and even have a parade of state floats!
