Following the successful physical education and athletics models found at Belmont Day during the school year, the Summer Sports Camps strive to unlock the athletic potential in every child by creating healthy attitudes towards competition through a team-first approach.
From budding sports enthusiasts to experienced middle school athletes, these week-long programs will not only improve sport-specific skills, they will also build confidence, and foster a love for athletics through targeted instruction that is both developmentally appropriate and challenging.
Designed by experienced educators and accomplished athletes, these unique offerings will teach athletes of all ages how to compete with sportsmanship by focusing on the school’s six core values of honesty, caring, joy, respect, responsibility, and excellence.
White: Grades 1 and 2
Our youngest and least experienced athletes will enjoy a week that combines basic skill development with traditional physical education and developmentally appropriate choice time. In this introductory program, young athletes will discover the fundamentals of a particular sport, while also learning how to cooperate with their peers within a team setting.
Blue: Grades 3 to 5
Our older and more experienced athletes will enjoy a week that combines sport-specific skill development with an introduction to competitive play and developmentally appropriate fitness sessions. In this transitional program, young athletes will build on their existing skill sets, while also learning how to compete with sportsmanship and class within a team setting.
Gold: Grades 6 to 8
Our oldest and most experienced athletes will enjoy a week that combines advanced skill-based instruction with high-level competitive play and developmentally appropriate strength and conditioning. In this top-level program, middle school athletes will elevate all aspects of their game, while also learning how to apply their skills and knowledge on school, town, or club teams.
