Belmont Day School is a community of 270 children and 74 adults committed to academic excellence and lifelong learning. Our faculty is comprised of homeroom teachers and specialists in math and science, the visual and performing arts, technology, physical education and athletics, woodworking, French and Spanish. Two reading teachers support the classroom teachers in grades one through seven. All members of the BDS community share six core values: honesty, caring, joy, responsibility, respect, and excellence.
Belmont Day School is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes people of all races, genders, religions, family configurations, sexual orientations, economic backgrounds, and cultural identities. We work together to nurture a community where listening, open dialogue, humor, and respect thrive. We seek qualified and experienced teachers, administrators, and staff who wish to contribute to this unique and vibrant community, both inside and outside the classroom.
The assistant head of school and two division heads support the faculty in the following grades:
Primary/Elementary: pre-Kindergarten to grade four
Middle School: grades five, six, seven, and eight
A core group of professionals in the admissions, alumni relations, business, communications, and development offices supports the mission of the school.
The school buildings and grounds are maintained by two staff members and our kitchen employs four people.
