Joined Belmont Day: 2022
Amanda joined Belmont Day in the fall of 2022 while pursuing their teaching license in elementary education and a master’s degree in education. Originally from California, Amanda graduated in 2016 from Southern Oregon University, where they majored in biology. After graduation, Amanda returned to the Bay Area, where they worked in various fields, including biotech, software development, and circus school instruction. Most recently, Amanda worked as an afterschool teacher and substitute at the Atrium School in Watertown and had the opportunity to teach at least one lesson in every grade from pre-kindergarten to eighth, and developed and taught a new middle school two-week course called, Cooking, Community, and Culture. In their free time, Amanda enjoys reading, playing music, fiber and wood crafts, and getting out in nature.
