Sophie Williamson

Sophie joined the associate teacher program for the 2022-23 school year while pursuing a teaching license and master’s degree in early childhood education. Sophie is from Lexington and graduated from Wesleyan University in 2022, where she majored in psychology and education studies. While there, she worked in a psychology lab studying early childhood mathematics and assisted in developing a play-based math intervention for preschools that was implemented in schools around Connecticut. She also coordinated a student-run afterschool program for children ages 2-15 living in the federally subsidized housing complex next to campus. Sophie worked as an assistant teacher at the Cape Cod Children’s Place. In her free time, Sophie enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with her two cats.
