Welcome from the Head of School

At Belmont Day, we believe in the agency of each individual student. Every day our faculty challenge and inspire students to make meaningful contributions to their classrooms and community. Our work is grounded in six core values—excellence, responsibility, honesty, caring, respect, and joy—that provide the foundation for growing into lifelong learners and leaders.

Visit our campus to see how these values are fully lived here. From the thrill of discovery in our classrooms to the sportsmanship of our athletics program and the self-expression in our art studios, the warmth of our school community hums with a self-sustaining vibrancy. Faculty and parents work together to ensure that each child is supported and stretched where they need it most. Our students understand that excellence is a process and that Belmont Day is a place to aspire to goals, apply critical thinking and creativity, take risks, and grow.

Belmont Day is a special place. There are countless ways that our students are encouraged to shine throughout their journey here. At each step we celebrate the wonder that comes with childhood, alongside the emerging sense of self-awareness and confidence that our graduates carry with them into the future. It is my pleasure as the head of school to welcome you to BDS.
