Strings Program for Young Musicians
July 25 to August 12, 2005
The Program
Experienced musicians entering grades four to nine will develop their skills while participating and performing in an ensemble. Participants are required to submit a letter of recommendation from their private music teacher and audition for placement in the program. Under the direction of Debra Thoresen, Belmont Day School's advanced string ensemble director and founder of the Community Youth Orchestra of Northwest Suburban Boston, children will work with experienced teacher/musicians in intermediate and advanced seminars and an all-group ensemble. Children will also enjoy outdoor recreational activities and a daily swim period.
