Believe Develop Support

Belmont Day School is a community of learners who come together each day to nurture and guide the social, academic, and artistic lives of our students. In recent years our school has enhanced the curriculum at all grade levels. Belmont Day has grown and continues to grow to meet the needs of our student body and a dedicated faculty and staff.

The tuition of an independent school rarely covers the cost of the actual education of a student. This is true at Belmont Day School. On average, our tuition per student is $3,200 below the cost of a BDS education. Schools strive to keep tuitions within reach of most families and work to find other sources of income. Last year's tuition covered only 72% of the school's operating budget.

Did you know? The annual giving program provides support to the school's financial aid budget. Currently, over 20% of our students receive financial assistance with an average grant of $13,203.

As we develop our programs, it is vital that we attract and retain the most creative and talented teachers while also providing them with classroom materials to challenge and excite our students. Your gift to BDS has a direct impact on the school's ability to support these two initiatives.

Leadership gifts are vital to our Annual Giving Program. Last year 80% of our total giving came from leadership gifts. Leadership giving circles for this year are:

$1,000 - $3,499 Community Circle
$3,500 - $4,999 Blue & Gold Circle
$5,000 - $7,499 Learning Circle
$7,500 - $11,999 Sharing Circle
$12,000 - $14,999 Founder's Circle
$15,000 and above Head's Circle

Last year over 350 parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, foundations, and friends contributed to the Annual Giving Program. In recent years our school has received a steady increase in gifts from our alumni, grandparents, and friends. Parent participation in Annual Giving is consistently high, with 96% of our families contributing last year. We are grateful for this incredible community support and commitment to BDS.
