The library is the heart of Belmont Day School. Located at the center of the school building, opposite the entrance, its open doors welcome students and visitors alike. The stone walls of the original cottage, the cozy reading room, and the high ceilings and clerestory windows make our library one of the loveliest and best-used rooms in the school.
The library is open to all whenever school is open. Students and their parents stop in before school for a quick story or to select some books for family reading. Pre-kindergarteners through second graders visit the library weekly to hear a story and borrow books to take home. Older students visit independently or with their classes for instruction, for research, or to browse.
From picture books to poetry to reference materials, our large and varied collection supports and enriches the curriculum and sets students on their way to becoming life-long readers.
